I specialize in working with anxiety and mood disorders through the use of strategies based on Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and Mindful Self-Compassion, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused methods, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Attachment-Based methods.
I am skilled in the assessment and treatment of children and adults impacted by anxiety and mood disorders (including Bipolar Depression), ADHD, OCD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, communication problems, social skills challenges, mildly autistic children and adults.
I also work with couples facing problems with life transitions, communication difficulties, problems connecting physically and emotionally, as well as dealing with parenting problems across the lifespan. I have been a foster and adoptive parent trainer and I have helped hundreds of families sort through their grief and difficulties and learn to work more effectively together. I also facilitate groups focused on developing mindfulness and DBT skills.
Much of my work has involved individuals from over 90 nationalities/ethnic backgrounds, people from various religious backgrounds, sexual orientations, and age-groups (babies to those in their 70's and 80's). Many of my clients find relief from their symptoms in 8-12 sessions or less! I will collaborate with you to help you determine the values and solutions to guide you on your path.
